Council FAQs

What kind of theatre experience should a student applicant hope to have?

We seek a wide array of students, from the very experienced to the theatre-curious. This is a program where all are welcomed and we will learn from one another. Do not hesitate to apply by thnking that you are not qualified or experienced. All we seek are students with a great deal of enthusiasm and willingness to participate and collaborate with one another.

Where and when will this program take place?

Council meetings and events will take place either at Le Petit Theatre or off-site at a partner space. We are currently working with a church in Mid City to host several educational activities and expect that some council meetings will be held there as well. Meetings will occur between 6pm and 8pm on designated week nights once per month. Council members will also attend final dress rehearsals which will occur on the following schedule:

Beautiful: The Carol King Musical:  Wednesday, March 6 at 7:30pm – Le Petit Theatre

Born with Teeth:  Wednesday, April 24 at 7:30pm – Le Petit Theatre

The Importance of Being Earnest:  Wednesday, June 5 at 7:30pm – Le Petit Theatre

Are there any other costs associated with the program?

Tickets to all final dress rehearsals are complimentary for council members. Le Petit will provide any and all materials council members will need throughout the year.

Is a virtual interview necessary for being admitted to the council?

If a virtual interview using zoom is not possible, a phone interview can also be scheduled.

Are the pre-show speeches a requirement of serving on the council?

These opportunities are just that:  opportunities, not requirements. We understand that student travel can be a hindrance at times and so no student will be required to attend a specific Le Petit performance to make a cuetain speech. We simply want them to have the opportunity to partake whenever they so wish.
