In Clytemnestra Blue, Greek tragedy of 5th-century Athens and the modern blues music of 1920s New Orleans come together in an explosive, moving, and timeless exploration of what it means to hurt like a human. An all-female cast of powerful voices featuring talented faculty, student, and community artists confront the consequences of violence and its survival in a world moving from retribution towards compassion.
Original music and arrangements by Brian Breen complement text and lyrics by George Judy, innovative sound design by Tyler Kieffer, and dramaturgy from Barrett Hileman.
